Brown Iron Brewhouse is not only a tap house but brew our own Brown Iron beer in-house as well with a variety of our own beers on tap. Each small batch uses the finest ingredients to create the best craft beer possible. We continue to push our limits every day to bring you delicious beers using local and fresh ingredients
We started brewing our highly anticipated Brown Iron Beer at the beginning of October 2016 and tapped our first brew at the end of the month. Our first Brown Iron beer was our Batch One IPA. This beer has since become the base for our popular Juicy Batch Two IPA. Since we started brewing, we have brewed over 80 unique Brown Iron beers and a variety of different styles that hold their own against the best beers out there. It’s important to us to use local and fresh ingredients, much like our cuisine.
We recently showcased our brews at our first Michigan Brewers Guild Beer Festival and our Strawberry Rhubarb Wheat collaboration with Dragonmead was named one of the hottest beers of the festival to try by the Detroit Free Press! Big Hefe *
Hefeweizen

We went with a bigger grain bill on this one. We ended up with a bigger Hefeweizen that offers the traditional clove and fruity esters that you find in this style. For a touch of something extra, we dry hopped the beer with Citra and Motueka Hops. The hops offer hints of tropical fruit. The result is a slightly fruity and refreshing wheat beer.

Liquid Pumpkin Pie, we used a light brown base ale brewed with fresh pumpkin puree finished with maple syrup and a warming blend of fall spices. The ale has a great body and up front spices and finishes with pumpkin lingering on the palate.

Fruit Beer

A crisp beer for anytime of day, this fruited ale includes Blackberry, Blueberry, and Raspberry and was aged on a generous amount of granola. This brew starts out relatively dry and effervescent but finishes very smooth and slightly malty with balanced notes of fruit throughout.

This simple, yet interestingly satisfying Belgian Golden ale offers delicate esters of bubblegum typical of Belgian Ale’s while being complimented with a light body and crisp finish making it a fantastic thirst quencher.

Thats My Jam: Pineapple Blackberry

Inspired by our Washington Bar Manager, Tyler, we took our base of Big Hefe, forgot the dry hops, and replaced them with nearly 100lbs each of blackberry and pineapple. The result is refreshing, satisfying, and a touch tart as the pineapple blends nicely with the Hefeweizen esters and finishes with the subtle tartness from the blackberries.

A first in our new fruited blonde series, we use our Crazy Hazy Blonde as a base and pack it full of fruits. On this one we used a cocktail of strawberry puree, kiwi and fresh lime juice for a refreshing thirst quencher to lead us into warmer weather.

We took our Big Hef and added an entire groves worth of fresh mango puree for this super crush-able wheat ale. Straight forward, bright, and refreshing just as you would expect from a fresh juicy mango on a hot summer day.
Pink Lemonade Shandy

This one starts out with 2-Row and Wheat Malts along with Sterling Hops. We finish the beer in the secondary with pink lemonade and fresh lemon juice. The result is a refreshing beer with great lemonade flavor without being overpowering.
Crazy Hazy Blonde

Our take on the American Blonde Ale. Easy drinking but this one offers flavors you don’t typically find in an American domestic beer.
Eisenfest

This is the perfect beer for the perfect time of the year. Football is back, the weather is cooling and what you need is a German-style Märzen/Oktoberfest. All the regular goodies are in here: German Pilsner, Munich and Crystal Malts along with Hallertau Hops. Prost!

BIB Light Lager

BIB Light Lager is an American Light lager with a touch of German inspiration, much like Brown Iron itself. Weighing in at 4.9% this is definitely one of the lightest and most approachable beers we have ever made. Light in body and color paired with smooth, balanced, and crisp flavor is an easy but still enough to satisfy the seasoned drinker.

This brew has been in star port getting updates. We’ve defeated the cylons with this new brew. Theres no objecting to the huge flavors of this one. Bumping up the list for every hop head, this IPA features Bru 1, Amarillo, Mosaic, and Citra Hops. Lending aromatics of pineapple, sweet tangerine, and stone fruit. At an easy 5.6% we wouldn’t say that it is a big beer, but highly drinkable, especially during our happy hour.

With the help of Loftus Ranches, together with Bale Breaker Brewing Company and Yakima Chief Hops, we created this New England IPA with a blend of hops made specifically for the Ales for ALS movement. Every pint of this beer benefits ALS research at the ALS Therapy Development Institute! This NEIPA has big notes of guava, stone fruit, and tropical fruits, with a pleasant mouthfeel and light malt backing, and very low bitterness. Cheers to Tommy!

We went lighter than usual with this stout, but not on flavor. Not the buttons, not the gumdrop buttons! Our tribute to Gingy is a Gingerbread Imperial stout aged in Heaven Hill rye barrels for 12 months with molasses, vanilla, ginger, nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon. As strong but equally smooth as Gingy remained under interrogation.

A huge caramel nose gives way to subtle aromas of apple and the rye barrel that this imperial stout was aged in for over a year. Chocolate Raspberry Stout

Chocolate Raspberry Stout is an imperial stout that is packed with raspberries. In addition to the raspberries, the stout features dark chocolate. Although the raspberries are upfront, you may notice a touch of coconut as well. At 8.8% ABV, it’s big, splendid and fruit forward. The stout captures the essence of a raspberry truffle in liquid form.
Walnut Stout

Along with the dark malts, this stout also features black walnuts (roasted and unroasted), Belgian candied syrup and Madagascar Vanilla. Along with the walnut and vanilla flavors, you will also find notes of coffee and chocolate.
Dark Nemesis

This is by far the most labor intensive beer we make. This imperial stout offers an abundance of chocolate and roasted coffee flavor. This full bodied stout is smooth and complex.
